Baisakhi

Baisakhi is a vibrant cultural festival celebrated primarily by the Sikh community to mark the harvest of the Rabi crop. It also commemorates the formation of the Khalsa, the community of initiated Sikhs, by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699. Observed on April 13th or 14th depending on the solar calendar, Baisakhi is marked by joyous celebrations including religious ceremonies, traditional dances like Bhangra and Giddha, and festive gatherings. The festival symbolizes renewal, thanksgiving, and the triumph of good over evil, uniting people in a spirit of joy and community. Families come together to enjoy special meals and recreate the vibrant culture of Punjab.
